Theme: Traditional Costumes and History of Clothing in India

The upcoming August 2025 issue of Sapno Ki Udaan invites student submissions in the form of their creative expressions like poetry, stories, articles, dialogues, essays, illustrations/posters, profiles, travelogues, etc. The main theme of this issue is – 

“Traditional Costumes and History of Clothing in India.”

CBSE welcomes creative and informative submissions that highlight the artistic, social, historical, and personal dimensions of Indian costumes – from ancient robes to tribal dress, royal attire to common wear, and evolving trends over the centuries. We also welcome submissions on the following subthemes, but not limited to: 

Sub-Themes (but not limited to): 
• Weaves of traditional India 
• Evolution and influences 
• Woven Identities – culture, community and costumes 
• Ceremonial and expressive traditional wear 

*Articles on the above theme and sub-themes shall be placed as the thematic article of the issue.

Submission Categories and Word Limits: 

Submissions in the following categories may not necessarily be based on the main theme. These are creative features to encourage experiences, imagination and creativity of the students. 

1. Poems (12–32 lines) 
2. Stories (600–1200 words) 
3. Dialogues/Plays (400–700 words) 
4. Illustrations/Posters/Paintings (High-resolution, 300 dpi) 
5. Travelogues (800–1200 words) 
6. State Snapshots (up to 500 words) 
7. Photography (High-res JPEG/PNG, 300 dpi) 
8. Quizzes/Trivia (20–30 questions) 
9. Reflections(500–1000 words)

General Guidelines: 

• All entries must be original and unpublished. 
• Submissions in any scheduled Indian language are welcome. 
• Plagiarised or AI-generated content shall be disqualified 
• Follow the word limits and formats mentioned in the guideline. 
• Photographs should be scanned at high resolution in JPEG or PNG format, with a minimum of 300 dpi. 
• Use the following formats in word documents: o
 English: Times New Roman, 12pt, 1.5 spacing 
 Hindi: Unicode, 14pt, 1.5 spacing
